The way people volunteer changed in 2020. It became task-oriented, for example fetching prescriptions and shopping for neighbours, rather than role based, such as fundraising. ROC Woking is working with partners to develop a new tool to manage our volunteer resources and match them to tasks based on their availability. Every hour of help really matters.
We are actively engaged with WBC, local agencies and faith groups in a bid to facilitate collaboration in a number of areas - examples being youth, mental health, social isolation and loneliness
ROC Woking was set up to respond to the needs of the Woking Community. To set up strategic partnerships to support practical ‘on the ground’ positive change. To enable statutory agencies to have improved access to the support of faith, community groups and volunteers to be able to serve the community and promote wellbeing
Mission: To work in partnership with faith groups, sector organisations, Woking Council and other statutory agencies to support communities in Woking to work together to help serve the needs of those with disadvantage in Woking
Vision: In 10 years time Woking communities will be working together for the benefit of ALL people in Woking
Developing the spirit of partnership in Woking
